Messaging and Communications

How Artistover Messages may be used, what we send you, and how marketing consent works.

Version 2.0 · Effective 28 July 2026

The official legal document is provided in English.

Artistover is operated by Artistover Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17285593, whose registered office is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.

This policy covers messages between users on Artistover, and messages Artistover sends to you.

1. Keep the conversation on Artistover

Discuss and agree bookings in Artistover Messages. It creates a record both sides can rely on if there is a disagreement later, and it is the evidence we look at when we are asked to decide a dispute.

Moving a booking conversation to private channels in order to avoid the fee or the record is a breach of our Acceptable Use policy. Exchanging practical details once a booking is confirmed, such as a phone number for the day itself, is normal and expected.

2. What you may not send

Messages must follow our Acceptable Use and Community Standards policy.

  • No harassment, abuse, threats or discriminatory language.
  • No sexual content or unwanted sexual attention.
  • No spam, bulk messaging or advertising to people who did not ask for it.
  • No attempts to take a booking off the platform to avoid fees.
  • No requests for payment outside Artistover, and no bank details or payment links.
  • No sharing of another person private information.
  • No malware, phishing or fraudulent links.

3. Marketing to other users

Do not use Messages, enquiries, event invitations or guest lists to send marketing to people who have not asked for it. Contacting a provider about a genuine booking is not marketing. Contacting a list of providers to sell them something is.

Where you send marketing to your own contacts, you are responsible for having consent for consumers, sole traders, unincorporated partnerships and other individual subscribers. You may rely on another lawful basis only where electronic marketing law permits, including for appropriate incorporated business contacts, and every message must include a working way to opt out.

4. What Artistover sends you

We send two kinds of message. Service messages relate to your account and your bookings: confirmations, payment notices, changes, reminders, verification, security alerts, policy updates and dispute updates. You receive these while you have an account, because they are part of the service.

Marketing messages tell you about the product, features and offers. You control these in your notification settings and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Turning off marketing does not turn off service messages.

5. Monitoring and moderation

Messages between users are private in normal use. We use automated checks to detect content that breaches this policy, including attempts to move payments off the platform, spam patterns, and content that presents a safety risk.

We access the content of a conversation where it is necessary to investigate a report, resolve a dispute, protect someone from harm, prevent fraud, or comply with a legal obligation. Access is limited to what is needed.

6. Retention

We keep message history for as long as it may be needed for the booking, for a dispute, and for our accounting and legal obligations. Deleting a conversation from your view does not remove it from the booking record.

Our Data, Account Closure and Deletion policy explains retention in full.

7. Reporting a message

Use the report control in the conversation, or write to contact@artistover.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
