Data Export, Account Closure and Deletion
How to get a copy of your data, how to close your account, and what we have to keep afterwards.

This policy explains how to take your data with you, how to close your account, and what happens to information we are legally required to retain.
1. Getting a copy of your data
Request a copy of your personal data by writing to privacy@artistover.com from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we release it.
We provide the data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format within one month. If the request is complex we may extend that by up to two further months, and we will tell you why.
An export includes your account details, your listings, your bookings and quotes, your messages, your reviews, your payout statements and your notification preferences. It does not include another person personal data, our internal notes about fraud or safety investigations, or information covered by legal privilege.
2. Closing your account
You can close your account from your account settings, or by asking us to close it.
Before an account can close, you must complete or properly cancel any confirmed bookings, settle any balance owed, and resolve any open dispute. An account with money owed to a customer or to Artistover cannot be closed to avoid the debt.
Closing an account unpublishes your listings, ends new bookings, and stops all marketing. Confirmed bookings that have already happened remain in the record.
3. What happens to your data on closure
We deactivate the account immediately and remove your listings from the marketplace.
After 30 days we begin deleting or anonymising data we no longer need. We keep the account in a recoverable state for that period in case the closure was a mistake or was not made by you.
Reviews you left remain published, with your name reduced to a first name or removed, because deleting them would misrepresent the provider record for other customers. Reviews left about you remain published for the same reason.
4. What we have to keep
Some records cannot be deleted on request. Where that applies, we keep the minimum needed and stop using it for anything else.
- Payment, payout, refund and invoice records: 7 years, required by tax law.
- Identity verification results: 5 years after the relationship ends, required by anti-money laundering rules.
- Platform seller reporting data: as required by HM Revenue and Customs reporting rules.
- Booking and message records connected to a dispute or a potential claim: 6 years, matching the limitation period.
- Safety, fraud and abuse records, including a record that an account was closed for a breach, so a banned user cannot simply sign up again.
- Anything we have been formally required to preserve for a legal proceeding or an investigation.
5. Deletion requests
You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time by writing to privacy@artistover.com, whether or not you are closing your account.
We will delete what we are able to delete, and tell you clearly what we have kept and why. We will not simply refuse the whole request because part of it is retained.
6. Deceased users
If an account holder has died, a personal representative can contact us with evidence of their authority. We will close the account, cancel upcoming bookings, and deal with outstanding payments and payouts through the estate.
