Acceptable Use and Community Standards
What may not be listed, published or done on Artistover, and the standard of behaviour expected of everyone.
Version 2.0 · Effective 28 July 2026
The official legal document is provided in English.
Artistover is operated by Artistover Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17285593, whose registered office is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.
This policy applies to everyone on Artistover: providers, customers, organisers, collaborators and guests. It covers what can be listed, what can be published, and how people are expected to treat each other.
Breaching it can lead to content removal, loss of visibility, suspension, closure of an account, and where the law requires it, a report to the authorities.
1. Treat people properly
Artistover is a working marketplace between real businesses and real customers. Communicate honestly and professionally, do what you said you would do, and deal with problems directly rather than by disappearing.
- No harassment, bullying, intimidation, stalking or threats.
- No hate speech or abuse directed at anyone.
- No sexual harassment, unwanted sexual attention or sexual content directed at someone who has not asked for it.
- No sharing of another person private information without their consent.
- No abuse of Artistover staff or of a provider staff.
2. No discrimination
You must not refuse a booking, cancel a booking, set different prices or conditions, or treat someone differently because of a protected characteristic. In the United Kingdom those are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
Providers may decline work for genuine reasons: the date is not available, the brief is outside what they do, the budget does not work, the venue cannot take the numbers. Those reasons must be real, and they must be applied consistently.
Venues and providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers and guests where the law requires it, and must describe accessibility honestly rather than optimistically.
3. What may not be listed
The following may not be offered, advertised or arranged through Artistover.
- Anything unlawful, or anything that requires a licence, registration or qualification the provider does not hold.
- Sexual services, adult entertainment involving sexual activity, and any service involving the exploitation of any person.
- Anything involving a person under 18 in a role that is unlawful or unsafe for them.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and pyrotechnics offered outside the licensed and insured operators permitted to supply them.
- Controlled drugs, and services promoting their supply or use.
- Regulated professional advice, including medical, legal, financial and immigration advice, offered by anyone not authorised to give it.
- Gambling services, lotteries and prize competitions run without the licence they require.
- Services involving animals that breach animal welfare law or licensing.
- Counterfeit goods, stolen goods, and anything that infringes someone else intellectual property.
- Tribute, impersonation or lookalike acts presented in a way that misleads a customer into thinking they are booking the original artist.
4. Honest listings and honest enquiries
Do not mislead. That covers the obvious cases and the subtle ones: photographs of work that is not yours, prices that omit unavoidable costs, availability you cannot honour, capacity figures that ignore your licence, reviews you wrote yourself, and credentials you do not hold.
Do not send enquiries you have no intention of following through, do not use enquiries to advertise your own services to providers, and do not use the marketplace to build a list of businesses to contact elsewhere.
5. No fee avoidance
If a connection was made through Artistover, the booking and the payment belong on Artistover.
- Do not share bank details, payment links or personal contact details in Messages in order to take the booking off the platform.
- Do not offer or ask for a discount in exchange for paying directly.
- Do not record a booking at a lower value than the amount actually being paid.
- Do not split a booking into a small platform booking and a larger off-platform payment.
- Do not cancel a confirmed booking and re-make the same arrangement privately.
This is not about controlling who you work with. It is about keeping the record, the payment protection and the dispute process in place for both sides. Clients you already had before Artistover, and work that genuinely did not come through the platform, are entirely yours.
6. Platform integrity
Do not manipulate how Artistover works.
- No fake accounts, duplicate accounts to evade a restriction, or accounts created to obtain a benefit more than once.
- No self-bookings, bookings between connected businesses, or bookings made to generate reviews, status or programme benefits.
- No manipulation of reviews, ratings, ranking or availability.
- No scraping, crawling or bulk extraction of listings, profiles or data.
- No attempt to access another user account, data or booking.
- No malware, no probing our security, and no interference with the platform or its infrastructure.
7. Content standards
Content published on Artistover must be lawful, accurate and appropriate for a general audience that includes people planning family events.
- No content that is illegal, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
- No content sexualising or endangering children. This is reported to the authorities without exception.
- No graphic violence, and no content glorifying violence or self-harm.
- No content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- No content impersonating a person, a business or a brand.
- No spam, and no repetitive or automated posting.
8. How we enforce this
What we do depends on how serious the breach is, whether it was deliberate, whether it caused harm, and whether it has happened before. Steps range from a warning and content removal, through reduced visibility, restricted features and paused bookings, to suspension and permanent closure.
Serious breaches, in particular those involving safety, children, fraud or unlawful services, lead to immediate removal without a warning.
Where we act, we will normally tell you what happened and why, and you can appeal through our Complaints, Reporting and Content Removal policy.
9. Reporting a breach
Report anything that breaches this policy through the report control on the listing, the event or the message, or by writing to contact@artistover.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
